Day 33 (got thrown in the hole and missed a few)

Day 33
I haven’t been able to write for the last few days because I got sent to the SHU ( the hole/solitary confinement). I went straight from work to the SHU and they wouldn’t give me anything so I had to borrow this paper from my new celly in here. What happened was I talked to this white shotcaller friend of mine at work about being harassed by the homies and he said after work to go with him and we could talk to someone and get moved to a different unit. Well after lunch the staff goes out to stand in the middle of the yard for a little while and that is the time inmates can bring issues to them. So he took me over to a psychologist and told her then she took me over to this lieutenant to talk to him and the warden came up and talked to me too. The Lt. took me right over to the SHU and they patted me down-handcuffed me and locked me in a holding cell for a couple hours. They made me strip, lift my sack and also bend over and cough. They took my glasses and then began teasing and harassing me. They said they were gonna put me in a cell w/a big black guy and told me that they only serve soggy peanut butter sandwiches. There were like 4 guards and they were in the back talking about daily beatings with rubber hoses so that I would hear. They acted like I was lying just to get in protective custody. I guess this is my punishment for telling a fellow inmate that homie was running his hand up my leg so I had to hit him. So they escorted me to the cell in handcuffs and one said “you wanted to come to the hole so bad” and I said I just wanted psychology to move me (to solve issue). He said “well this ought to teach you not to talk to psychology” and put me in a cell with nothing but a bed and toilet/sink combo. I spent the next 10 hours in there before falling to asleep w/o the Ibuprofen for my aneurysm headaches that I asked for several times. I was able to finally get them to roll the phone and open my cubby so I could call you to tell you. I didn’t know that there is a whole new set of rules now. I’ll get to that. So the next day they woke me up at 6am saying I was moving cells. They put me in with this guy who’s been here in the hole for 40 days. He literally has long hair/beard. He told me a lot of info about the hole. Most people spend 90 days in here locked ina cell 23 hours and you are very limited on what you can have. The only things they gave me back was my soap, deodorant and toothpaste. I need my ibuprofen med super bad---I dying from this never-ending headache. On top of the headache I am still sick with a cold so the headache goes on hour after hour. I asked for my meds every time that a CO (correction officer) walk down the hall but they always said they would check on it and that was it. Anyway I ended up developing a fever and got real bad like how I was at UC Davis where I couldn’t move. This is the longest I’ve gone without aneurysm meds and this was the closest feeling I felt in UCdavis and after recovery. I told my new celly how I just had an aneurysm this year and luckily he got the attention of a CO and made kind of a big deal cause I couldn’t talk, move or even use my eyes and I couldn’t eat. Anyway after about 30 hours of being in here I was finally given my meds and my headache was gone in 30 minutes from the 1,200 mgs of ibuprofen. So back to the call. My celly here tells me in SHU you get 15 minutes of phone time a month. So what the. I used it all for May with that one call to you and now can’t call you for our 10th anniversary. I have to wait til the next day. Hopefully when I don’t call you that day you will look up the SHU rules and see something about this. You only get 3 showers a week and they have to watch you. Also the outdoor you get for that one hour a day is actually just concrete slabs with cages around them. Those are the only times we leave this cell and we have to be handcuffed through the cubbyhole before we can leave and be escorted by two guard while handcuffed. I now wear an orange jumpsuit and have to use the toilet with the guy inches from me there on the bottom bunk. He uses the toilet to keep his milks cold-just has them sitting in the toilet water. Did I mention how this SHU looks like an insane asylum-the pen is tiny and rubber-the shoes they gave me-I wear size 9 but one is size 12 the other is size 13 and both are lefts. Actually nothing they gave me fits—I think they were trying to mess with me and gave me the tightest underwear ever and the biggest jumpsuit. The CO’s in SHU treat us like we are animals-very rude! Hopefully I'll be out of here sooner than 90 days. (Adding this right now cause I couldn't write it in the letter but the Lt. questioned me and wanted me to name names of who was running up my leg and I wouldn't snitch cause that is the worse thing in here so I kept saying I didn't know the name and after much questioning and harassing I made up the name ChoCho as a nickname. They never could figure out who he was cause I made the name up so they assumed I made the whole thing up and kept me in the hole for that long to try to crack me into confessing or snitching (ratting, dropping a dime, narcing)
